Water x Universe x Energy
The largest canvas I’ve ever painted.
I’ve been thinking about painting such a big canvas for a while but never did it until my mom wished to have it painted for her birthday. That was the starting point, from which I started falling deeper and deeper in love with painting on big canvases. During the process of making this one, I figured out where my biggest passion lies - in creating abstract art. That was so satisfying to discover. I think that its energy clearly shows how much I loved the process of making it.
I used acrylic paints and mixed them with a pouring medium. At first, I started with a spatula, continued with a large brush, then smaller…and so on. Once I started, I couldn’t stop. I remember I had a movie night planned that evening, which made me stop after I did the base. I was so happy.
In the next two days, I focussed on a tiny part of the painting at the time, adding a few additional lines and shapes to it - according to the current inspiration. This tactic was also something that made my process much more enjoyable. Don’t know why? Try it yourself. ;)
In the end, I added gold and silver leaves to give it even more depth.
To me, the painting represents the purity of fresh water and the depth of the Universe, which both together emit indescribably good energy.
I made the painting for the office space of my mom. She told me that many visitors of her office felt calm and relaxed when close to this painting and observing it. I felt the same while watching it. It soaks you into a vast space, where everything is so simple yet complexly interconnected - just like water molecules form crystals in pure spring water.
